Discover the divine guidance that outlines the straight path for humanity — a path of justice, mercy, and devotion, as prescribed in the Qur'an.
The 10 Divine Commands (Qur'an 6:151–153)
- Do not associate partners with God — Worship Him alone with sincerity and reverence.
- Be kind and dutiful to your parents — Treat them with respect and compassion, especially in old age.
- Do not kill your children out of fear of poverty — God is the Provider for both you and them.
- Avoid immoral behavior — Whether done publicly or in secret, steer clear of all indecency.
- Do not take a life unjustly — Human life is sacred and only taken with rightful cause.
- Use reason and sound judgment — Reflect deeply and act wisely in all matters.
- Do not exploit the property of orphans — Except to improve it, and only until they reach maturity.
- Deal justly in financial transactions — Use honest weights and measures in all dealings.
- Speak the truth, even if it concerns a relative — Let justice guide your words.
- Fulfill your covenant with God — Honor all commitments and remain steadfast on His straight path.
Say, “Come, let me recite what your Lord has prohibited to you: Do not associate anything with Him; be good to parents; and do not kill your children for fear of poverty—We provide for you and for them. Do not approach immoralities—what is apparent of them and what is concealed. And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right. This has He instructed you that you may use reason.”
And do not approach the orphan's property except in a way that is best until he reaches maturity. And give full measure and weight in justice. We do not burden any soul beyond what it can bear. And when you speak, be just, even if it concerns a close relative. And fulfill the covenant of Allah. This has He instructed you that you may remember.
And this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow other ways, for you will be separated from His way. This has He instructed you that you may become righteous. (Qur’an 6:151–153)
